Climate change brochures
Information pack for schools in Belgium
The British Embassy in Brussels is delighted to present a booklet for use in Belgian schools entitled 'Global Warming: Information pack for schools in Belgium'. This English language resource is free of charge and available to all schools.
Global warming, or climate change, is causing concern around the world. The booklet introduces the issue in general terms, explaining what it is and why it is a problem. It then goes on to look at possible effects of climate change and considers ways in which people are already trying to improve the situation. The booklet suggests ways in which individual schools and children could make a positive difference. Finally it explains how Belgium and the UK are working together to tackle climate change.
The booklet is colourful and attractive to children. It is full of pictures and diagrams and uses straightforward English. It includes 5 activity sheets so that children can test their understanding of what they have learned through quizzes and other fun and interesting tasks. The booklet also contains a glossary of key words relevant to this subject in both Dutch and French. We hope that the booklet will be an interesting and useful tool for English teachers to use in presenting this important subject.
